How to Take the Train from Orange County to Los Angeles
Hey everyone, and thanks for visiting my blog post about how to take the train! I am going to specifically be talking about how I plan my trips to Los Angeles from the general Orange County area. My mom is a frequent train commuter because of her job and has been taking the train to work ever since before I was born (approximately 25 years! Insane) so I am pretty comfortable taking the train because she taught me how to do it. Unfortunately, I think that most folks here in the general Southern California area are a little intimidated by the train because the train system here is not as sophisticated as it is in places like New York City and Paris. However, I do think that taking the train is still incredibly useful here because you can save money on gas and on parking, especially since LA is literally NOTORIOUS for expensive parking fees and parking structures. I know it can be very intimidating as a young woman (or even as an LGBTQ+ identifying individual) to take the train by yourself with literally no clue as to what to expect, but as someone that has a train taking expert for a mother, I really wanted to share this knowledge I have and honestly after you get used to it, it’s honestly insanely fun and almost like a mini adventure you can go on as long you don’t mind walking a bit. Anyways, let’s go on with the steps on how to plan a train trip!
Slow and Sustainable Fashion YouTubers to Check Out
During the early stages of social distancing in the pandemic, I had a lot of time to be able to explore YouTube a lot more and I was so happy to be able to discover more YouTubers creating slow and sustainable fashion content. With fast fashion’s domination, the counter slow fashion movement is quickly building momentum and appears to not be going anywhere anytime soon. As someone who has always had a slow fashion approach to my style, I am happy to have found YouTube content that I can personally resonate with
Art Accounts to Follow on Instagram
During the early days of social distancing as an art lover, I honestly felt that my Instagram was lacking in the art department of things to inspire me on my Instagram feed. I usually would discover more artists through Pinterest for the most part, but I just felt that I could follow some art accounts to spruce up my feed with some art in the same way my Pinterest usually is filled with more creative inspo…
4 Cozy Coffee Shops to Write or Study at in Orange County
As a writer and a poet, I can usually be caught in a coffee shop whenever I’m in a writing funk and need to be somewhere that isn’t the desk in my room. A coffee, a pen, and a notebook with some nice ambience is what I need to get out of a rut and need to focus sometimes. If you’re in the OC area, here are some of the coffee shops I frequent to write or study at.
How to Shop Depop like a Pro
As someone that has been shopping second hand for most of my college life (and honestly I prefer to do so), I have been hearing a lot of negative things about Depop, which is unfortunate but a bit understandable. Regardless of these things, Depop is still one of the main avenues I use to shop second hand and quite a lot of my clothing is from there, especially my jeans. So I wanted to compile a list of things I’ve learned throughout the years shopping there (definitely a learning curve) through practice and just being a consistent shopper on there. Hopefully these tips will help you find what you’re looking for. Depop is no place for inexperienced thrift shoppers to tell you the truth.
